Climate Change in the Land of Magic
A Touba Family Foundation funded project, published fall 2024

A graphic interpretation by children describing the various changes in the Lake George, Adirondack region

What is the land of magic?
What is the land of magic? It’s the memory in the grandparents’ hearts of a more idyllic climate past. It’s the invention of the future, the solutions and concerns, in a child’s imagination, articulating what can still be saved or how we adapt. It’s our Adirondacks, the lakes and towns, threatened by too much warming. We need to name and face the threats and then figure out next steps. Through the reimagining in these cartoons, our youth give us new perspectives and challenge their elders to take action on behalf of the generations to come.
