                           Comprehensive Land Use Plan 2023-2024

The last comprehensive land use plan was completed in 2007 so that the Town was long overdue for a new plan. A comprehensive plan is both a vision for the future and a blueprint for how to get there. The comprehensive plan creates a framework for the zoning code update as well as other topics including land use, economic development, environmentally sensitive areas, infrastructure and housing. The objectives of the new plan were:
Identify the future vision for land use Establish policies and actions Facilitate public and private investments. Most importantly the updated plan gives direction to the changes needed in the zoning code because the code has to match the plan. In a public meeting in October 2023, Queensbury residents were asked “where do we want to be” and “how do we get there”. The Comprehensive Land Use Plan was completed in 2024.
